Material culture data

A database of all the datable material culture found at all sites.

In this database, the main entity is not the site, but rather the piece of material culture.

The materials entered into this database are defined by their participation in categories, often constructed by modern scholars. For example, a specific ceramic form like the AfricanRedSlipWare platter known as the “Hayes 61A” has its own entry, which includes dates of production, origin, participation in a broader ceramic class, etc.
