Most Linux computers and/or single board computers can run Shareboxx. However, here is a list that worked well for us, with good range and low power consumption as well as long-term OS support:

• Raspberry PI 4 or PI 5 (4GB RAM is sufficient, but 8GB is more future-proof)
• Any USB SSD or Memory stick (Raspi 5 can support M.2 drives with an extra board)
• TP-Link Archer T3U Plus AC1300 USB Wifi Adapter (See Driver Installation for TP-Link Archer T3U Plus AC1300 USB Wifi Stick)

Note: It is not recommended to store the shared files on the system's own boot drive, such as the raspi's MicroSD card. This will wear out your boot drive quicker. In fact, it is recommended to enable overlay filesystem to make the boot filesystem readonly and prolong the SD card's lifespan.
