Ernest was 9 years old. He lived with his father, John Cuvelier, and his two brothers, Dale (age 12) and Elmore (age 10). They were living in the Cherokee Nation, in Township 27. He and his brothers were all born in Kanas. Both his father and oldest brother, who was only 12 years old, worked as farm laborers. His father was a widower at age 34. His father was born in the US, but his father’s father was born in France.
Township 27 in Cherokee Nation in 1900 is probably Nowata County, Oklahoma now.
1910 Census:
Ernest was 19 years old and lived in his father, John’s, household. His father had remarried. His stepmother’s name was [Lulu](Lulu-Payne] and they had been married 9 years. His oldest brother had moved out, but Elmore (age 20) was still at home. He had 4 half brothers, Johnnie (age 7), Jacob (age 4), Samuel (age 2) and Clem (age 6 months). John, Elmore, and Ernest were all farm laborers and lived on the farm in Hickory Township in Oklahoma.
