3.7 Supporting Multiple Streaming Devices - dikodahan/dikodahan.github.io GitHub Wiki
If you only have a single streaming device and have no need to configure multiple ones, you can skip this section! This section is optional, but is definitely helpful if you want to easily configure and update multiple devices. |

Managing multiple streaming devices can be a difficult task, especially if you have them connected to multiple TVs around the house in different rooms and/or even different floors!
This section of the guide will show you how to control multiple devices from your computer instead of needing the physically access each and every device. Definitely makes it easy to update multiple devices. This same software will also give you the ability to provide access to a remote user over the internet for support purposes (I will go over this later in this section).
Make sure both your streaming device and your computer are connected to the same network!
I assume you have already enabled ADB Debugging on your streaming device. Just in case you haven't, look at these instructions to do so.
Enabling ADB Debugging on a Google/Android TV device
- Set the following: Settings > System (GTV) / Device Preferences (ATV) > About > Build
- You will need to click on the build number several times until you will get a message that developer mode is enabled.
- Go back once, you now see you have a new Developer options available. Go to: Developer options > USB debugging > turn ON.
- You will get a validation questing if you want to allow this, choose; OK.
- Check the IP address of your streaming device.
- Press and hold the OK button on your remote. The side menu will appear > Android Settings > Network & Internet > click on your connected network.
- The IP Address of your device will appear on the right side of the screen. Write it down for next steps.
- Press and hold the OK button on your remote. The side menu will appear > Android Settings > Network & Internet > click on your connected network.
- Head over to the Vysor website. Click on the Download button and make sure to install the Vysor app on your computer based on your matching operating system.
- Once installed, launch the application on your computer.
- Click on the Connect Network or Shared Device button in the middle of the screen in the Vysor application on your computer.
- Type in the IP address of your device in the Connect Network Device popup message box and click Connect.
- The initial connection for the first time on your streaming device might pop up a connection approval request on your streaming device!
- Back on your streaming device, you will be asked to Allow USB debugging.
- Press the OK button to check the Always allow from this computer checkbox. Then press OK.
- If by chance the initial connection did not open the connection because of the popup permissions request in the previous step, simply repeat step 4 to open the connection.
- The initial connection for the first time on your streaming device might pop up a connection approval request on your streaming device!
- The first time the connection is made Vysor will also install all the necessary prerequisites on your streaming device. This will take usually up to a minute.
- When done it will simply open a mirrored screen of your streaming device on your computer. You can now connect to this device very easily in the future without the need to be physically next to it.
- The new streaming device will now show up inside the green box at the top left of the application on your computer. Simply click the Red Play button next to the selected streaming device to launch the remote connection.
You can now repeat the above steps to add each streaming device you own to control them all |

Once Vysor is installed and properly configured on your streaming device, you can now share the connection to enable a remote user to view and control your streaming device from over the internet.
- Launch the Vysor application on your computer.
- Click on the Share Device button for your selected streaming device.
- Pressing the Share Device button will create a link for remote access to your device. The link is automatically copied to your clipboard.
- Share the link using your favorite share method (email, text message, WhatsApp...) with a person that you trust for remote support purposes.
- Pressing on that same button again (that now has a slightly different icon to it) will unshare the link it has created. This means that the previous link created will no longer effectively expire.
