0.1 Free vs Paid Services - dikodahan/dikodahan.github.io GitHub Wiki
The whole point of this guide is to provide you with 100%, completely free alternatives for streaming content and live TV!
Every single one of the apps I will list in in this guide can operate as is without the need of anything else in order for you to enjoy the content it has. Many of them leverage built-in ads to cover their cost. Being a smart ass, this guide includes the installation of an ad blocker so that it automatically filters these ads from the apps so you can avoid that nuisance :)
Having said that, it is important to note that every single one of the options will use lower bandwidth options to deliver the content to you. This means unfortunately, that you may encounter some buffering in some cases (not always!) when streaming content. In addition, when watching live TV channels, the free options will most likely provide SD (standard definition) broadcasting quality, or regular HD (720p) quality at best.
There are a couple of paid services options you can consider to help with the above issues:
-
Real-Debrid
- This service provides premium streaming bandwidth for the entertainment apps.
- This is extremely useful and recommended if you are planning to enjoy on-demand streaming of movies and TV shows.
- This service only costs 16 Euros for a period of 6 months (peanuts compared to any single streaming service).
-
IPTV
- This service provides premium access to live TV channels at Full HD (1080p) quality.
- It will provide you with the equivalent of the highest paid cable service package, plus all their PPV channels access!
- The average cost of such a service ranges between $60-$120 for an entire year! (which is usually the cost of a basic cable package for a single month).
Here is a short example video of Israeli TV content you would get with an IPTV provider. This is only a small sliver of the thousands of channels from all over the world that you get with such a service (the low frame rate is just because this is an animated image file :)!
Unrelated to the paid services listed above, there a few recommended free service accounts I would highly recommend setting up and using. You can set them up now using the links in the below descriptions to be used later when you set up your selected apps. These are completely free accounts that are useful in the world of streaming experience.
-
Trakt
- Trakt is a unified account that is used to automatically track what movies and TV shows you watch.
- what is it good for? As you may need to switch streaming apps along the way, this will give you a consistent watched record as you migrate and switch because of an app no longer working. If you don't mind losing watched history, you can skip this account.
- Here is a link to a YouTube video that explains what this service really is and its benefits.

-
Telegram
- Telegram is a messaging app. It also supports channels with media content.
- What is it good for? Because Telegram uses complete end-to-end encrypted communication channel, it has been heavily leveraged by content streamers to upload movies and TV shows into that platform.
- to sign up for Telegram, just download the app to your phone and use your phone number to sign up.

-
Sdarot.TV
- The Sdarot.TV saves your watched history for this app.
- What is it good for? Since Sep 2022 having an account is a mandatory step in order to view content through the app! It is a free account, you are not required to pay for the premium service.

-
Ace Stream
- The Ace Stream engine is used by some apps that leverage live TV streaming services, especially with sports apps.
- What is it good for? Some apps may prompt you for the Ace Stream Engine in order to display the live stream. If that is the case for you, you will need to install the engine itself (is available in the app store, as will be listed later in this guide) and sign in with a free account for it to work properly.

Great question!!!
-
Do you need to pay anything to enjoy the wealth of everything listed in this guide? NO!
-
Are you a person that hates the occasional buffering and loves the use of a stable and quality live TV broadcast?
If the answer to some or all of the above question is YES, then I would highly recommend purchasing some or all of these services. You will see later in the guide some sections in it with a PAID prefix to them. They will provide additional explanation on options and setting them up. -
Can I try to use everything for free and decide later if I want to pay for these services? ABSOLUTELY!
