Learning to Draw
In the first exhibition format, I attempted to stage the ceramic pieces into creating an imagined space of ruin inside the wooden box. The presence of the software together with the installation was really uncertain still. The audio design was very preliminary, utilizing a standard reverb filter from OBS itself processing the audio data interpreted from the Computer Vision software.
Master Project Exhibition 2022
In the second version of the installation, the software interface became more proiminent, as well as the data processing from the ceramic became more sofisticated, but the general setting remained the same in comparisson with the first version.
Hochschultage 2022
After the experience of the first two exhibition formats, I realized that there was a big gap between the experience generated by the installation and the concept I was trying to reach with it. Althought the theatrical presentation of the wooden box with the 70kg of sand and ceramics made a distinct impact in the enclosed exhibition space, it did not convey enough that a reading process was taking place, nor in which scale of time and complexity did it proceed.
From these frustrations the idea of the "dig-site" site appear as a possible alternative way to directly (and I feared perhaps too directly) to convey the idea of future-past, memory, digital traces, archiving, oblivion, etc. And together with this dig-site a machine reading would need to take place, since the previous reading process did not materialize the "internal eye movement" that the software was executing in order to re-construct the 8bit audio data that was encoded onto the piece of ceramic.
