Creating a campaign for citizen participation
- Login to the ‘Admin’ part of the geonode platform.

Scroll down and click on ‘Cpt’ to go the the citizen participation creation section.

Click on the ‘+’ part of the ‘Campaigns’ to create a new campaign.

Fill in the details of the campaign you want to create by filling out ”Campaign name”, fill out a campaign url name, give your campaign a title by filling out the “short description” and write the detailed description to describe the campaign in “detailed description”.

Choose a start date and end date of the campaign. If you want to create a campaign to leave it open always, then choose a date far into the future like in the example below.

If you want to allow citizens to only give ratings, choose ‘Yes’ Under rate, and select ‘No’ under ‘Form enabled’ and ‘Allow ratings’.

Choose the layer you want to display to the citizens in the campaign by double-clicking on the layer on the left panel. After double-clicking, it will appear to the right under ‘chosen geoserver layers’. If you want to know how to add layers to the TOSCA tool, check this manual. Click on ‘Save’ to save the campaign.

You will see your saved campaign in the list below.

Go to the citizen participation link of TOSCA and refresh the page. Click on ‘See active campaigns’ to see your new campaign.

You will see the campaign appear on the left with the information of the campaign showing up on the map.

To delete a campaign,´click on the number of the campaign on the left in the list.

Click on ‘Delete’ on the bottom left.

Click on ‘Yes, I’m sure’ on the bottom right to delete the campaign.

If you want to add the possibility of citizens to write comments and draw on the map to give their feedback, choose ‘Yes’ under ‘rate enabled’ and ‘Allow drawings’. Add categories of comments under ‘category type’ by clicking on the ‘+’ sign beside the category type section.

Put in categories for the comments for citizens to choose and click ‘Save’.
