Installing Updates and Utils - dice-project/DICE-Simulation GitHub Wiki
Updates of the DICE Simulation Tool can be installed as usual in Eclipse.
You can use either the Help -> Check for Updates
or the using the Help -> Install New Software...
menus.
Keep in mind that if you installed a specific version, you'll stick to that specific version until you explicitly install a later version or until you register the update site for the latest
build manually.
-
Help -> Check for Updates
: This option will only notify about new updates if you installed the DICE Simulation Tools using thelatest
build, rather than a specific version. To install any updates, just navigate to this menu option, and if there's any update available, it will be installed. -
Help -> Install New Software...
: Use this option in case you installed a specific version, or the previous method didn't work. Just open theHelp -> Install New Software...
, and set an update site URL in the Work with: field.We recommend you to use https://dice-project.github.io/DICE-Simulation/updates/ to install the latest version, but it is also possible to use any update site URL of the ones listed in our Versions archive as far as the version number is higher that the currently installed.
Installing the DICE Simulation Utils
The DICE Simulation Utils are a set of optional tools that allow developers to inspect and debug the actual stochastic Petri nets being simulated by GreatSPN. Since they are not meant to be used by non-expert users, they are not included in the default install.
Nevertheless, these additions can be manually installed by using the standard DICE Simulation Tools Update Site (note the categories DICE - Simulation Utils
and DICE - Simulation Utils (Optional 3rd party features)
in the animation above). You only need to also check their corresponding checkboxes when installing new software by means of Help -> Install New Software...
when using the https://dice-project.github.io/DICE-Simulation/updates/ update site, and these advanced features will be added to your IDE.
