CLA - dfryan/dreamfactory GitHub Wiki

Why we have a CLA

As the project sponsor, DreamFactory Software, Inc. would like to ensure the long-term viability of DreamFactory and its community. The Contributor License Agreement helps ensure everyone can enjoy DreamFactory with confidence that DreamFactory is here to stay.

Specifically, our Contributor License Agreements (CLAs) grant the contributor and DreamFactory Software, Inc. joint copyright interest in contributed code. Further, it provides assurance from the contributor that contributions are original work that does not violate any third-party license agreement. The agreement between contributors and project is explicit, so DreamFactory users can be confident in the legal status of the source code and their right to use it.

Our CLAs

For all contributions to DreamFactory (be they software, bug fixes, configuration changes, documentation, or any other materials), we ask that contributors complete and sign a Contributor License Agreement.

We have two different CLAs, depending on whether you are contributing to DreamFactory in a personal or professional capacity:

  1. [Individual Contributor License Agreement v1.0] indiv-cla
  2. [Software Grant and Corporate Contributor License Agreement v1.0] corp-cla

For lawyers

Our individual and corporate CLAs are based on the Contributor License Agreements published by the [Apache Software Foundation] apache, with modifications:

  1. [Individual Contributor License Agreement ("Agreement") V2.0] apache-indiv-cla
  2. [Software Grant and Corporate Contributor License Agreement ("Agreement") v r190612] apache-corp-cla

If you have questions about DreamFactory's own CLAs, please contact us at [[email protected]] mailto-legal.
