Start with Adobe Illustrator. For cutting: Red (255 red, 0 green, 0 blue in RGB), line thickness .001 For rastering: color stuff in black

-> Print Open laser software. Turn on laser software.

Use the second red button in the row of red buttons (on computer screen) to control laser black pointer head

Focus

• Move the head to a flat central piece of the material.
• Use the black and white focusing tool (in drawer to left of laser cutter)
• Flip open silver covering on laser cutter head
• Place focusing tool to rightmost part of red sheath for head
• Slowly press “up” button on laser cutter repeatedly and gently until you see the black and white tool move a miniscule amount (examine shape of black and white tool for better understanding)

Check settings

• Material type **Extruded is the one covered in paper, **Cast is the one covered in plastic
• For thick acrylic: 0.250 thickness, and 3.5 speed
• For thin acrylic: thickness = 0.125, use regular setting “Cast or extruded acrylic”, leave speed setting the same
• Don’t forget to click “Apply” and “Ok”
