Installation

Step Zero: Getting a copy WCFaceTrack

This page covers the installation process for avatars within NeosVR. This section presumes you have basic knowledge of NeosVR tools (such as the NeosVR Developer's ToolTip).

To get WCFaceTrack working, download the latest release and locate the file run.bat under the Binary folder. This is what you'll run later!

Step One: Getting a copy of the WCFaceTrack Installer

To get a copy of the WCFaceTrack Installer, copy and paste this URL into the NeosVR Window: neosrec:///U-Ruz/R-14757885-7241-4011-abc9-f6724f806c72

It will spawn the public folder "WCFaceTrack ", which contains the WCFaceTrack Installer.

Step Two: Using the WCFaceTrack Installer

Take a second to admire the marvelous UIX canvas that has just spawned out in front of you. Next, use a Developer's ToolTip to inspect your avatar and locate your Visemes/Blendshapes (typically found under your Avatar's Body).

From here, drag your desired Visemes onto the UIX canvas. You'll see the canvas buttons turn green when they've been inserted, you can always undo a placement if you make a mistake.

You don't need to fill out all of the slots! Here is a list of all supported WCFaceTrack Visemes:

Expressions Expression Description
Blink Left Opening/closing the left eyelid
Blink Right Opening/closing the right eyelid
Mouth Small Making a pouty face/puckering the lips
Mouth Wide Stretching the lips horizontally, ear to ear
Mouth Open Opening the jaw
Mouth Closed Closing the jaw with some effort. Not to be confused with a neutral expression
Eyebrows Up Raising the eyebrows
Eyebrows Down Lowering the eyebrows
Eyebrows Angry Furrowing the brows, an angered expression
Eyebrows Angry Softening the brows, an saddened expression
Other fields Descriptions
Gaze What your eyes are looking at. This will always be the Eye Manager Slot Rotation
Gaze Sensitivity A measure of how sensitive the gaze detection is on an XY place. Unless you absolutely have to, don't modify this.
Head Proxy Target Rotation The forward direction of your head. This will always be the Head Proxy Target Slot Rotation
IK Solver Head Target The Head Target Slot under the Avatar's IK component. This is experimental, you can leave this empty

Step Three: Final Touches

Once you have dropped all of your desired Visemes onto the Canvas, you're ready to setup! There are 2 final things to do here:

  1. While in the avatar, click on the "Setup!" button at the bottom.
  2. If you specified the "IK Solver Head Target", you'll need to click the button once after Setup. Weird but that's the only way we can set this up realistically ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Step Three: The Fun Part

Finally, run run.bat under the Binary folder and follow the prompts. This will open a terminal window displaying the status of the program.

Ideally, it should print "Got Frame". If this is the case, it's working! Now go make a funny face :D
