Assignment: Vcenter: Remote Access + Snapshot

This lab goes over how to access viewportal (remote access tool), get into vCenter and take snapshots of virtual machines.

Helpful steps (ViewPortal):

• Link To Champlain ViewPortal

• Use Champlain Creds to log in

• When prompted choose Remote Student VDI

Helpful steps (vCenter):

• Link To vCenter
• Note that in order to use vCenter you must be on the Champlain network or using the ViewPortal.

vCenter Snapshots:

Snapshots are a good way to revert your progress if an error occurs on your current system. When taking a snapshot, always make sure it has completed before resuming progress on the system.

• Select the given VM and click the snapshots button on the right hand side
• Click the take snapshot button
• Only one snapshot is allowed per VM.
• Snapshots and recent evets will show up under the Recent Tasks tab at the lower left hand side of the screen. This is helpful to confirm any given task has successfully been completed.
