Voice guidance settings - devemux86/cruiser GitHub Wiki
The voice guidance settings of Cruiser can be accessed via [ Main ] > "Settings" > "Voice guidance".
Cruiser provides voice guidance to navigate your route without the need of looking at your display again and again during driving. The voice guidance can be individually parameterized to adapt the turn-by-turn instructions to personal needs.
- Activated - Turn-by-turn instructions are available.
- Deactivated - No acustic directions are given, navigation needs to be done 100% visually.
Tip
You can (de-)/activate voice guidance also during navigation by long-pressing the direction panel > "Voice guidance"!
This setting defines the language used for voice guidance. When set to "Application language" the language that is set for Cruiser is used also for the turn-by-turn instructions.
Defines the volume at which the instructions are played back.
- "System" - The device volume is used.
- "0-100 %" - A specific volume level for voice guidance is used.
With this setting you can configure the audio stream used for the voice guidance. Volume, routing, and priority are affected by that setting.
- "Media/music audio" - Default for continuous audio; A2DP profile
- "Notification audio" - Transient audio, interrupts other streams, possibly louder even with low media volume device setting; mostly A2DP profile
- "Phone call audio" - Exclusive audio focus, highest priority; HFP/HSP profile
Here you can set the time period available to the system to establish the audio path before instructions are actually audibly output. Such a preparation phase can minimize typical problems such as cut-off first syllables, crackles at the beginning of instructions, or Bluetooth dropouts.
- "Off" - No audio connection preparation is done.
- "500-4000 ms" - Specific preparation period; 500 ms increments
