Creating beelines is possible by OpenRouteService online. Right click a shaping or via point will offer the section profile menu.

All action/menu screens can be closed with swipe up or down. Swipe right/left can navigate between the menus that have previous/next screen.
Outdated since Cruisers new non-tile based menus!

Create a short out and return track by a shaping point placed onto a side road 80m away. The active misplaced Via points tool prevents the creation of such a short track tail. Anyway it can be done by adding a second extra shaping point near to the shaping point position at 80m.

Then during active navigation long press the "Name of next waypoint" top panel.
The via(way)point selection is also available with a long press on the small waypoint distance & time panels.
A menu will open to select the via point whose distance & time is displayed (default is the next via point).
Or press the direction icon in the top left and select "Road book" to see the distance & time for all via points.

Tap on the left area to zoom out. Tap in the right area to zoom in. Swipe with 2 fingers horizontally or vertically to zoom in/out on both axes.
