How to unstake MATIC, Polygon with Ledger Wallet - despinsjannelle/Ledger-guides GitHub Wiki

Just like staking MATIC (Polygone), unstaking your tokens is very easy. To do this: you must first reconnect, your Ledger wallet to MetaMask and connect your Ledger MetaMask account to the Polygon wallet.

Once your MATIC (Polygon) is unstaked (undelegated), you’ll be able to withdraw your assets back to your available account balance after a few days (80 checkpoints) on the Polygon wallet.

Please download the last update of Ledger Live Application:

2.Ledger Live for MAC

This article tutorial describes how to unstake (undelegate) MATIC (Polygon) with your Ledger wallet.

Before you start

  • Update your Ledger Live app to the latest version.
  • Make sure that your Ledger device is running the latest firmware version.
  • Make sure the Ethereum (ETH) app is installed on your Ledger device — if outdated, update it.
  • Enable blind signing in the Ethereum app settings.
  • Close Ledger Live before accessing MetaMask.

Unstake/undelegate your MATIC (Polygon)

  • Go to the Polygon web wallet: Wallet.matic.network/ and connect your wallet through the same method you used to stake/delegate your MATIC. (In this article, we’ll be using a Ledger MetaMask account)

  • Once your wallet is connected successfully, you’ll have access to the Polygon dashboard.
  • On the dashboard, click on Staking in the Apps menu.

  • Scroll to the delegation section and click on the Unbond option.

  • Review and Approve the transaction if everything looks good.

  • It’ll take a few minutes for the transaction to be confirmed and you’ll be notified that the Unbonding process has been initiated.

  • You’ll have to wait for the Polygon network to complete a minimum of 80 Checkpoints, which usually takes a few days (2).

  • Once the 80 checkpoints have been completed, you can claim your Matic tokens back. To do this: click on the Claim Stake button to claim your MATIC tokens.

Review and verify the transaction. If everything looks good, APPROVE the transaction.

Now, you have unbonded/undelegated your Matic token successfully.
