Intake Permissions - department-of-veterans-affairs/caseflow GitHub Wiki

The Intake application includes the following:

  1. Intaking an Appeal, Higher-level Review, Supplemental Claim, RAMP Election, and RAMP refiling
  2. Editing the issues on Decision Reviews
  3. The queue for non-compensation or pension business lines
  4. Seeing the asyncable jobs page, or seeing the details for a specific job

Permissions for intake can be impacted by role, organization membership, and user station.

Please contact your supervisor for instructions on access.

Mail Intake role

Users with the Mail Intake role can:

  1. Create a new intake at /intake
  2. Visit the edit page, for example at /supplemental_claims/[uuid]/edit
  3. Add, remove and edit issues on the edit page

Additional restrictions

Appeal Intakes

  1. Only members of the BvaIntake organization who have intake permissions (Mail Intake or Admin Intake roles) can intake appeals (10182s).
  2. Additionally, Senior Veterans Service Representatives (SVSR) will not be able to intake appeals.

Withdrawing issues

In order to withdraw an issue, the user either needs to be at a regional office (their station is not NWQ or VACO), or they need to be a member of the CaseReview organization.

Admins

Users who are a System Admin, or have the Admin Intake role can do the same as a Mail Intake user, plus the following:

  1. See the asyncable jobs page, restart jobs, or download a report
  2. Seeing a job's details page
  3. Viewing a non-compensation or pension organization's queue at /decision_reviews/[organization_url]

Member's of an organization

  1. Members of a non-compensation or pension organization can also visit the organization's queue.

Permissions by individual

  1. Individuals can see the jobs details page for any asyncable job that they submitted, in order to check on the status. Links to this are available from the intake confirmation page and from the edit page.
