The Emergence
The Emergence (Tö Komakkti : Srrøskku) is a semi-mythical event meant to explain the beginning of the dwarven race. While each dwarven race has a different name and interpretation of the myth, the story itself remains relatively unchanged across all dwarven cultures.
The Myth
By combining the most common reoccurring characters and plot points of the myth, the Chroniclers have been able to construct a version of the myth congruent with most oral and written retellings of it:
In the twilight of the Age of the Primordials, both the Stone Father and the Mother Earth felt a strong loneliness as their brethren slowly disappeared. While the Mother Earth went on to create her servants, the Elves, the Stone Father wanted to create a proud race that could cement his legacy and be the heirs of the Primordials once they were gone.
So, the Stone Father fashioned three brothers and three sisters out of clay mixed with either gold, silver, or copper. Once completed, the three demi-god pairs emerged from the depths to the surface of Omniluxia from three caves. The eldest pair, Hthgart and Ferja, emerged from the Silver Caves where Srrøvikkabi now stands. The middle pair, Summsir and Ava, emerged from the Gold Caves near what is now Tiuban. Finally, the youngest pair, Frei and Dwadais, emerged from the Copper Caves at what is now Bad-Idna. Thus, began the Dwarven Race.
Each pair conquered a homeland for their people, leading them in worship of the Stone Father alone, extending their influence, and creating great innovations and monuments. Htgarth and Ferja conquered the Green Valley, founding the Kingdom of Srrørum. Summsir and Ava conquered the Iron Foothills, extending the influence of the eternal Mâhdad Sho-Tan'Mâat Mâ'Azarî. Finally, Frei and Dwadais conquered the Dwarven Grandlands, ruling the expansive realms of Anempanso. Thus, began the Golden Age of Dwarves. The demi-gods ruled their respective realms for more than 10,000 years, until they all finally succumbed to the fate that awaits all mortals. As they died, their people returned them back to the caves from which they emerged, where they became large stones of silver, gold, and copper, and were reunited with their father. However, their death led to wars between the dwarves over which pair were the true heirs of the Stone Father, and opportunistic races took advantage of this chaos to invade and destroy their great kingdoms. Thus, ended the Age of the Dwarves.
