Illorians
Call themselves the Aentora-Torr, or Children/Descendants of Aentora Called the Illorians by the Zani after the old Illorian Empire that dominated Intermarenica before it's fall and the beginning of the First Illorian Age of Cities.
They're split into three main groups: the Western Aollans of Ar-Marrenica, the Central Ytollans of Yr-Marrenica, and the Eastern Ullydians of Ur-Marrenica.
The Aollans represent what most think of when someone mentions the Illorians, independent urban settlements with distinct identities that focused on sciences, philosophy, and war. They're the most traditional and many faithful Helluvians still maintain aspects of the old faith.
The Ytollans are defined by the Helluvian religion, which was founded in their lands. They are a wartorn people who are divided between several urban centers and manors, typically fighting the Western Aollans and Geallians, southern Dwarves and Halflings, and invading Eastern Ullydians and Werhenlanders. For that reason, the peaceful pan-Illorian Helluvian religion has been seen as bringing peace to a divided land as well as being defiantly anti-Zanic, who imposed their similar pantheon on the Illorians.
The Ullydians have been mainly wiped out by the incoming Werhenlanders. They are the most warlike out of all the Illorians, descendants of Pthellanne the Invincible. While most of them are Helluvians, there are still those that carry around small necklaces with Pthellanne's shield to protect them in battle, and there are still small communities that worship the old ways.
Native Faith
The Illorians worshipped multiple deities corresponding to either ancient heroes or forces of nature, with the most important being Aentora, Murthos, and Kulnnona the Everything-King and his two sons Kyrranno and Pthellanne.
Aentora and Murthos are twin goddesses representing the sky and the earth, creation and destruction, and life and death. They're tied into the ancient Illorian concept of duality.
Long Ago Aentora created all things, and brought forth humanity. However, to counterract her sister, Murthos birthed her own children who spread disease, death, the Muerthans. Large scaled beasts with incredible strength, the Muerthans spread across the land promised to the Aentora-Torr, Marrenica.
However, one tribe, the Illorians, under their King Kulnnona, used his cunning and guile to exploit the beasts' weakness, their low intelligence. He pitted the three Great Hordes against each other, and utilized more advanced military tactics to win staggering victories until he drove them to the edges of Marrenica.
Declaring himself the Everything-King, ruler of the known world, he divided his lands between himself and his two sons, eventually forming the three main groups of Illorians, the Western Aollans of Ar-Marrenica, the Central Ytollans of Yr-Marrenica, and the Eastern Ullydans of Ur-Marrenica.
