Esquelians

The Esquelians are distant relatives of the celticans, rohenoans, vetalians, and borderlanders.

They typically live under despotic tribal councils or hereditary chiefs. They used to be more democratic, with tribal assemblies electing a chieftain as a military leader rather than a civic one. However, Zanic influence has led these chiefs to seek more authority and make their roles hereditary. The Rezishus, once used to ensure that a leader could defend themselves orally as well as militarily, was warped into a show where the chieftain's supporters would bring up simple criticisms that the chief would confidently shut down with flashy and elaborate wording.

Despite this, oral training through mock Rezishus remain popular, and was regularly adopted by the Geallians despite opposition from traditional Geallian orators.
