This page, which I felt like making, let's me keep track of the many things in R56, you don't have to keep it up-to-date, I just like having this here.

New focus trees

(Countries with DLC trees as well can mostly have their tree selected in the gamerules)

  • Austria: Split from Germany and militarize or ally with Italy to reform the Austro-Hungarian empire, or accept German guidance while gradually developing an independent identity of communism, austro-fascism or imperial restoration with German help.
  • Germany: Go through a 3-sided civil war, choosing to either side with democratic or the vastly outnumbered communist forces, or stay historical and go through more flexible foreign policy than vanilla, or restore the Kaisserreich.
  • Lithuania: Enjoy ideology-specific economic decisions, buffs and advisors, as you pragmatically chose allies to stay independent or expand.
  • Czechoslovakia: Aggressively prepare your country for war as a military dictatorship, revive the Little Entente or undermine or appease Germany.
  • Peru: Embrace your Incan heritage, get Axis support in becoming a regional military power, reverse-colonize Spain or focus on recovering from economic crisis.

Vanilla content adjustments

  • Japan: Prime ministers as leader instead of just Hirohito.
  • Expand civil support decision has stronger effects so it doesn't need to be repeated as often.
  • Poland gets different fascist/democratic and communist branches which are a lot more sensible than the DLC ones, focusing on getting alliances and economic/political buffs, the historical path also gets a BoP instead of the vanilla decisions which work similarly.
  • France: Enjoy a much-improved version of the vanilla tree, featuring more options for both expanding and defending yourself.
  • Yugoslavia: When going communist, you have the possibility to form the Balkan Federation if all Balkan countries are in your faction.
  • [AAT] Norway: does not have the Quesling coup on historical, which is incredibly inaccurate.
  • [AAT] Finland: starts out democratic, instead of non-aligned, Paradox intentionally misrepresented their government because of their WW2 history.
  • USSR: Added democratic branch and a separate imperial and fascist branch for non-DLC players.
  • [NSB] Iceland: Starts out a personal union as historical instead of being a dominion.
  • [BftB] Turkey: Tree restructuring to make the tree less incredibly slow.

New technology/equipment

  • Post-1945 non-DLC planes, tanks and ships.
  • Unlock a 2nd tier of transport planes.
  • Research technology reducing terrain penalties, and create terrain-specialized troops.
  • [BBA] Unlock later tiers of jet engines and plane-based weapons.

Misc content

  • More complex Yalta conference featuring border gore fixing and more flexibility to ahistorical events.
  • The Soviet Union can join Germany in invading Poland, which allows for ahistorical scenarios where the Allies declare war on them, or for the original Molotov-Ribbentrop pact to happen where Germany gets Lithuania but less of Poland.
  • Troop experience tiers expanded.
  • New tank modules.
  • Buildings to produce steel and aluminium, and split refineries into rubber refineries and oil refineries.
  • Significantly more commanders available across the world.
  • AI countries will automatically disband their factions if they cannot find anyone to join it.
  • Disabled most the overlord adjective-country name puppet names, giving names such as Italian Morocco.

Game rules

  • Game rule to disable AI in peace conferences where the player is present (and making all actions cheaper for them), allowing the player to dictate the peacedeals.
  • Additional options to unify regions like hispano- and central- America or China at game start.
  • Additional options to fracture countries at game start, like the USA, Italy, USSR or Poland.
  • Game rule with various options to have puppets match their color to their overlords.

UI

  • Enlarged nuke counter so it actually shows progress.
  • Disabled ads for the DLC subscription.
  • Disabled "Slow Interface" when in debug mode.

Mechanical values

  • Recruiting unit leaders becomes expensive less fast.
  • Countries start with 3 instead of 2 research slots by default to accommodate extra techs.
  • More XP can be stored.
  • More focus progress can be stored.
  • Microing divisions reduces planning bonus less badly.
  • Field marshalls gain XP almost twice as fast.
  • World tension decays much faster.
  • AI nations are willing to naval invade countries that are further away and stronger.
  • High level railways support more supply, and infrastructure contributes a little bit more as well.
