galleries - degoya/rDownloader GitHub Wiki
Complete image galleries are downloaded through the external tool gallery-dl. One queue entry
represents an entire gallery, and its files are stored in a subdirectory of the package
destination.
gallery-dl is not bundled with the native builds — install it, or place it in the vendor folder.
The Docker image contains it. See External tools.
Paste the gallery address into the LinkGrabber. It is recognised by the host list and queued as a single entry.
Presets ship for Pixiv, DeviantArt, ArtStation, Flickr, Danbooru, Gelbooru, e621, Rule34,
Kemono, Fanbox, Redgifs and Imgbox. The host list is editable under
Settings → Media → Galleries, so any site gallery-dl supports can be added.
- The whole gallery is one queue row, with one progress figure — not one row per image.
- Repeated runs skip files that already exist, so a retry fetches only what is missing.
- Files land under the package destination, in their own subdirectory.
A site that needs a login can use an authentication profile with the site's browser cookies,
as media downloads do: with Authentication
left at Automatic (by domain), the approved profile for the gallery's site is handed to
gallery-dl as a private cookie file that holds only that site's cookies and is removed when the
download ends; a pinned profile is used as pinned, None sends none.
gallery-dl's own configuration file still works for everything else it can be told, such as a
username and password; write it as that tool documents it, and the runner picks it up.
Settings → Media → Galleries:
| Setting | Default |
|---|---|
| Host list | 12 presets, editable |
| Parallel gallery jobs | 2 (1–8) |
The path to gallery-dl is under Settings → Tools → Paths; empty means the vendor folder, then PATH.
A supported gallery profile can be a subscription: rDownloader polls it and new items enter the LinkGrabber through the ordinary intake, so routing rules, categories and review still apply.
Settings → Tools → Status shows the version gallery-dl reported and a verdict — Supported, Too
old, Known bad or Version unknown. A tool that is behind blocks only the capabilities it is
named for. rDownloader can also download and activate verified versions itself; this is off
unless you switch it on. See External tools.
Settings → Services → Galleries. Matching links are refused at intake and anything queued moves to Blocked.
