Paper prototype“Testing & Evaluate” - deco3500-2019/Team-Alpha GitHub Wiki

This is the detailed data obtained through the questionnaire after the end of the test of the low-fidelity paper prototype.

After testing and investigating the paper prototype, we got a lot of conclusions through summarization and analysis. First of all, most of the interviewees accept this form of design, and they will be more likely to accept such a way of control. With the simplest design, we only have three operating areas left in the interface, which not only conveys the design concept that we have simplified, but also the data obtained through this research allows us to determine the overall design direction.

At the beginning, because the description of the interview to the user was not very clear, we have always had doubts about the form we use emoji, because we are not sure that such a form can be widely recognized by users, and we are worried that users will Can not accept such a design concept. But our test results made us sure that the correct choice to use emoji is correct. Through the test of the data found that a large number of users can accept this design, and that this design is interesting. So we officially confirmed through this interview that emoji is the main way to visualize our energy consumption.

In order to meet a wider range of needs, we have taken an alternative, using the icon of the home appliance as an alternative to emoji, and we have also investigated this. The results of the survey show that the interviewees are still very able to accept this alternative.

The way we design interactions has always been an area we all focus on, and we have done research to understand the way users really like interaction. Through the results, more users still prefer a more comprehensive way of interaction, emoji can jump on the screen, the device should emit a tone, and vibration feedback. From this we have learned that the interactions that users really need are not only visual but also full of physical and auditory reminders.

In the last step, we hope to get more opinions from the user survey, and then we ask the users what features we want to add. After sorting out, we find that users still tend to add a summary interface, that is, The user is allowed to browse historical usage and summary information.
