Welcome to Foobar Link

Concept

With Foobar Link you can controll a foobar player with your Android smartphone or tablet.

Installation

To use the app, you must add the Beefweb Remote Control component (foo_beefweb) to your foobar installation. Start foobar.

Install Foobar Link from the Google Play Store. After starting the app, you will be guided to the device selection page where you can choose your foobar player.

Usage

Now Playing

This page shows the currently played track and offers the standard player buttons as well as buttons to control the replay behavior (repeat playback and shuffle).

Playlist

This view shows the current playlist. By default, the album that contains the current track is expanded so that all tracks are displayed. Other albums are collapsed. This automatic behavior can be switched off by pressing the auto expand toggle button. Each track has an info button that shows a popup with further track details. By tapping a track, its playback is started.

Other playlists can be selected from the dowpdown list.

You can also add tracks to the playlist by pressing the add button. This opens a file browser with all files of your music library. To use this function, you must specify the path to your music files in the beefweb plugin configuration.

Browser

Settings

  • IP Address: By choosing this option you are directed to the device selection page where you can switch to another foobar player.
  • View Mode: This option allows you to change the layout of the playlist entries as well as the playback page. You have three choices. By choosing the custom layout, you can even design the layout yourself. This is done by dragging fields between two zones for the layout and other available fields.

Layout editor

By choosing a layout item you can change further details such as the font size. Finally you can switch to the preview tab to see the current appearance. On the preview page for the player you can navigate between two titles by using the buttons for next and previous track.
