Timeline to organize and keep in mind the progress necessary for the project.

Semester 1 Timeline:

W1 Monday 20 September 9:00: Projects bidding begin

W1 Wednesday 22 September 17:00: Projects bidding ends

  • W3 Friday 8 October: literature review
  • W4 Friday 15 October: sketching possible UI input and output methods
  • W5 Friday 22 October: sketching possible hierarchical structures of the menu
  • W6 Friday 29 October: figure out ray casting with head tracking with Frames
  • W7 Friday 5 November: implement head-tracking-based menu/menu-item prototype(s)
  • W8 Friday 12 November: implement dialogue-agent-based menu/menu-item prototype
  • W9 Friday 19 November: implement head-tracking-based UI prototype
  • W10 Friday 26 November: implement dialogue-agent-based UI prototype
  • W11 Friday 3 December: implement dialogue-agent-based UI prototype

W12 Monday 6 December 9:00: Project crunch period begins

TODOs:

Lit Review:

  • read the papers given by Steve.

General product:

  • test resonance SDK.
  • test the 5.1Mix that the frames supposedly allow

For Head-tracking UI (HTI):

  • [DONE] make selectable menu items based on pseudo-cursor position.
  • test/develop orientation-recalibration of the frames
    • If that works try setting up an app/html page on the phone that uses the phone's directional data to recalibrate the frames
    • If that ^ does not work try gesture-activated recalibration of the frames

For Conversational User Interface (CI):

  • get rasa X to work. If that fails ask Steve for funding for Google's assistant or Alexa.

For Gesture-based UI (GBI):

  • make a novel gesture and test reliability.
