Failed to start Simulator Interface client ... Could not parse IP Address.

Make sure you've entered your PlayStation's IP address correctly. At the top of the FAQ is a guide to finding it, if you don't know what it is. If you've somehow deleted the IP entirely and don't know which box this is: it's the one to the left of the Start button!

Failed to start Simulator Interface client ... Expected packet size to be 0x128.

Either:

  • you're trying to connect to something that isn't your PlayStation
  • something's gone wrong with the connection to your PlayStation
  • you don't have GT7 open and some other PlayStation game is using the same ports

Verify the IP address matches your console and press Start again.

Failed to start ViGEm client ... VigemBusNotFoundException was thrown.

You don't have ViGEm installed (or your version is out-of-date). Install the latest version here: https://github.com/ViGEm/ViGEmBus/releases

Failed to start ViGEm client ... VigemAlreadyConnectedException was thrown.

Something else is using ViGEm. Make sure you've only got one instance of ClubmanSharp open. If the tool showed an error pop-up recently, you may need to restart it.

Failed to start ViGEm client ... VigemBusVersionMismatchException was thrown.

If you're on the latest version of ClubmanSharp, either install the previous version of ViGEm or wait patiently for a new ClubmanSharp release.

Error during Simulator Interface client update ... An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.

Verify your Playstation's IP address. If you've not had this error before, your Playstation's IP address may have changed since you last used ClubmanSharp. At the top of the FAQ is a guide to finding it, if you don't know how to find it.

Error during Simulator Interface client update ... Simulator Interface already started.

Wait a few seconds, then try again. If the tool showed an error pop-up recently, you may need to restart it.

Error during Simulator Interface client update ... SocketException was thrown.

Something's bound to the ports ClubmanSharp is trying to use for communicating with your PlayStation. Make sure you've only got one instance of ClubmanSharp open. If the tool showed an error pop-up recently, you may need to restart it.

Unexpected error sending driver inputs to ViGEm ... OverflowException was thrown.

Something's gone wrong with the connection to your PlayStation and some received data was corrupted. Improving your network stability by switching to a wired connection may help. Otherwise, you'll just have to hit Start and hope it doesn't happen again.

No packet received.

Check that you've allowed ClubmanSharp.exe access through your firewall. You can find the Windows Firewall settings by searching "Windows Firewall" in the Start menu and clicking on "Allow an app through Windows Firewall". Click "Change settings", then scroll to "clubmansharp.exe" and tick all the boxes next to it.

Also make sure you've entered the correct IP address for your PS4/PS5. If you're on a restrictive network such as a university campus, the connection may be being blocked. You can either try a mobile hotspot (though be aware of data usage) or internet connection sharing through your PC.

Couldn't determine game state. Open the pre-race menu before starting.

Hit Start only when you're in the Tokyo Clubman Cup Plus pre-race menu. The cursor can be on any option. ClubmanSharp may work when starting on other screens, but this is not recommended.

(This menu is also called the "Quick Menu" in the GT7 Online Manual.) https://www.gran-turismo.com/world/gt7/manual/race/01

Unexpected menu state change. Unable to determine game state.

If you're using Custom Menu Delays, they may be set too low. Try using the default Menu Delays for your console, which should work for almost all users.

Alternatively, it may be that some inputs were dropped by PS Remote Play. Improving your network stability by switching to a wired connection may help. If using the default delays, you'll just have to hit Start and hope it doesn't happen again.

If GT7 has been open for a long time (more than 20 hours), it can start to lag significantly. Close and reopen the game to fix the lag (which will cause issues with ClubmanSharp).

Type only numbers into the delay boxes. :) If you're having a genuine issue with being unable to input, it may be due to your locale or keyboard layout?
