Minutes for the first Casper Advisory Meeting

• Present: Alan Langman, Yashwant Gupta, Jonathan Weintroub,Glen Jones, Jon Ford

Notes from the feedback session (Alan)

• Need an easy way to share designs (Glen)
• Email Casper list with problems (less people like Henry/Glen) (Dan)
• Tool are still difficult for new users
• There was a suggestion of a yellow pages for contacts (Tom, JPL)
• Keep a list of progress on the wiki
• Some people felt it was difficult to collaborate.
• There were concerns on how to manage software in a collaboration environment
• There were concerns about the reliability of the hardware and poor manufacture (Jonathan)
• Needs to be a control and monitoring standard for CASPER instruments
  • need to get people involved
• Need improved documentation
• Need someone to focus on looking after the libraries
• Need more review for designs
• Next workshop in Cape Town, South Africa
• Need a mailing list for the advisory board - i.e. people to send comments.
