The RFI environment in the band that the Crab spectrometers observes in is particularly bad- especially at the upper and lower ends of the band. To try and understand the RFI environment, we did azimuth scans of the area at a low altitude (20°).
The figure below shows the result of these azimuth scans. The RFI is very isotropic at the higher frequencies and appears localized to around 10°-50° and 260°-300°. It might be a good idea to install a bandpass filter around 1500Hz to bypass the whole RFI environment and access the clean band inbetween.
