EmptyEpsilon has an experimental built-in voice chat feature.

To speak to all players on the server, press and hold Backspace (non-Mac keyboards; delete on Mac keyboards) and speak.

To speak with players on your ship, press and hold the ~ (tilde/backtick) key on US keyboards and speak. On non-US keyboards, try the key to the left of the 1 key on the number row. Not all non-US keyboards have the key.
