In 1992, at MacHack, Eric Hayes partnered with a (future) co-worker to write what they called NetMouse, a very rough predecessor to Synergy.
The tool was one of the five Winning Hacks of that year's conference, as reported in issue 135 of the TidBITS newsletter (July 1992), and in volume 2, number 7 of the Co-Op Spirit magazine (September 1992).
