To tailor the workbook to your preferences, you can utilize the Workbook Options feature from the View menu:

 

Adjust various settings to optimize your learning experience:

 

Workbook Title

Specify a title for your workbook. It will help you easily identify and categorize your workbooks, making it simpler to manage multiple studies.

Training Side

Default orientation of the chessboard. The color declared as the Training Side, White or Black, will be shown at the bottom of the chessboard in all views unless different orientation is selected below

Version

Set the version of the workbook. It must be in the form X.Y where both X and Y are non-negative numbers.

Initial Board Orientation

• Study - sets the default orientation of the chessboard for studies. The available options are White and Black.
• Games - sets the default orientation of the chessboard for games. The available options are White and Black.
• Exercise - sets the default orientation of the chessboard for exercises. The available options are White, Black, and Side to Move. The last option ensures that the side to move at the beginning of the exercise is displayed at the bottom.

 

The board setting is just a convenience and has no other significance. In any Workbook you can train from any position as White or Black, create exercises for White and Black etc. When you start training the initial position of the chessboard will be set according to which side you are training as rather then the setting selected in this dialog.

And of course, you can always flip the board by pressing CTRL-F or using the View -> Flip Board menu.
