Solving an Exercise - czbar/ChessForge GitHub Wiki
Chess Forge offers two different exercise modes. In the first, you simply guess the next move of the solution. In the second, you enter the complete solution and submit it for verification against the one provided by the author.
Select your preferred mode by clicking one of the Select Solving Mode buttons (red below):
Guess the next move mode
Select this mode to play as the side on the move (blue above). Follow the system instructions (red below) and make your guesses directly on the main board. You can exit the exercise at any time by clicking the Exit button (blue below).
If your move is not part of the exercise solution, the program will notify you. In the example below, Chess Forge indicates (red below) that the move 1.Rgh2 is not included in the solution or at least not in the main line. If sound is enabled, an error buzz will also be played.
If your move is part of the solution, Chess Forge will confirm it and automatically play the opponent’s reply, if one is available. In the example below, the user made the en passant capture 1.gxh6+ (red arrow below), which the program marked as correct (red below) before replying with 1...Kf6 (green below):
Once you have guessed all the moves in the main line of the solution, the program will notify you that the exercise is complete (red below):
Enter your analysis and submit mode
Select this mode (red below) to enter the full solution, including moves for both sides:
Follow the system instructions (red below) and guess moves by making them on the main board. If Quiz Points have been set up for the exercise (see Entering Solution for the Exercise) for the Exercise, the system will display how many points are available (blue below). You can finish the exercise at any time by clicking the Submit or Exit buttons (green below):
When you submit your analysis, the system will display your score (blue below) and indicate which moves were part of the solution (green below) and which were not (red below):
