Exercise Header Editor - czbar/ChessForge GitHub Wiki
The Exercise Header editor allows you to enter basic information about an exercise. You can open it in 2 ways:
- for a new exercise - use
Create New Exercise(green below) from the right-click context menu of the Exercises section in the Chapters View (red below):
- for an existing exercise - double-click the exercise header area (red below) in the
Exercisesview (green below):
Once the Exercise Header is opened, populate the required information:
- White and Black - players' names (dark green below)
- Elo - players' ratings (light green below)
- ECO - Encyclopedia of Chess Openings Code for the opening played in the game from which exercise is taken (purple below).
- Event - name of the tournament in which the game from which exercise is taken was played (dark blue below)
- Round - the round in which the game from which exercise is taken was played. This field can also include decimals to represent multiple details for sorting purposes. For example:
- Round 3.7 – a specific round and the board on which the game from which exercise is taken was played (Round 3, Board 7)
- Round 5.2 – a specific chapter and the exercise within that chapter (Chapter 5, Exercise 2)
- Annotator - name of the person who analysed and annotated the exercise (orange below)
- Result - radio buttons to record the result of the exercise (red below).
- Preamble - a brief note highlighting key information about the exercise or an instruction. For example: White to move and checkmate in two moves.
- Date - date when the game from which exercise is taken was played (brown below). You can enter it either by using the
Date Pickercontrol (light brown below) or by typing it directly into thePGNbox (grey below) in the formatyyyy.mm.yy. The check boxes allow you to clear the month and/or day fields if you only want to specify the year. - Number of the first move - use this option to align the exercise with the move numbering of the original game instead of starting from 1 (pink below).
