Creating Chapter - czbar/ChessForge GitHub Wiki
You can create a new Chapter in Chess Forge in 4 ways:
Create New Chapter Function
In the Chapters view (red below), open the right-click context menu and select Create New Chapter (green below):
The system creates a new chapter (green below):
Create New Chapter from Line Function
In the Study view (blue below), select the move that starts the line you want to copy, open the right-click context menu, and select Create New Chapter from Line (green below). In our example, we want to move Line 1... c5 from Chapter 1 (red below) to a new Chapter 2:
The system opens a dialog box and suggests a name for the new chapter, which the user can overwrite if desired (red below). You can also choose whether to delete the line from the original chapter (green below) and decide if the system should switch to the new chapter or remain in the current chapter (blue below).
Once you press the OK button (purple above), the new Chapter is created (red below), the line is moved to its Study (green below), and deleted from the original chapter as per the option we selected in our example (blue below):
Select Target Chapter Dialog
The Select Target Chapter dialog is used in multiple functions, for example Copy Games and Exercises Between Chapters. In this dialog, the items you are working on can be moved to a brand new chapter using the Create New Chapter button (red below):
Save Downloaded Games Dialog
When you download games from an external source to Chess Forge, the dialog box provides you two options for creating a new chapter (red below): one creates a single new chapter and downloads all the games there, while the other creates two new chapters, saving all games played by the selected player as White in one chapter and all games played as Black in the other.
