I think that the bit that I'm most proud of that I did in this project was putting it together. Stitching all the disparate sketches from everyone's work into one big sketch turned out to be pretty difficult, and I'm so happy with how everything turned out to look good next to everything else. If we're talking about the visual that was my favorite though, it's a toss up between "threedeewave()" and "sunrays()". "threedeewave()" took me a lot longer to get looking just right and reacting properly and is the one that I'm more proud of, but "sunrays()" is the subtle type of visual that I personally like the best that I can (and have) spend hours looking at.
I made six visuals, one where blue threads appear and react to the audio frequency, the second with a band of circles that follow the mouse around and react to the volume in a box of waves that react to the music, a third where a sphere is encircled by rotating squares that change depending of if they detect a snare, hat or kick in the beat, a fourth where a wave of rectangles that change in color and size into the distance change depending on the music, a fifth where a loop of circles grow and change with the music (and make interesting patterns when the music is particularly loud or busy), and a sixth where a screen is filled with perlin-noised pixels that change in detail depending on the frequency of the music. I also made the master sketch and stitched everyone's individual sketches into the final one and made sure they all worked with each other.
