GaugeBoson - crowlogic/arb4j GitHub Wiki

Gauge bosons, also referred to as force mediators or force carriers, are fundamental particles responsible for transmitting the fundamental forces of nature. The term "fundamental" here implies that they are elementary constituents of matter and energy, distinct from emergent phenomena like thunderstorms or the pooling of water.

Each of the four fundamental forces — electromagnetism, the weak nuclear force, the strong nuclear force, and gravity — is associated with a specific type of gauge bosons:

The present taxonomy of physical phenomena came about due to the identification, naming and classification of the forces facilitated by the application of rigorous scientific methods. It reflects a mix of historical context and logical reasoning, with numerous scientists contributing discoveries since the dawn of civilization.

  1. Photon: The carrier of electromagnetism.
  2. W and Z Bosons: The carriers of the weak nuclear force.
  3. Gluons: The carriers of the strong nuclear force.
  4. Graviton (hypothetical): The proposed carrier for gravity, not yet observed.

These gauge bosons play a crucial role in quantum fields since they mediate the transmission of forces between particles.
