Recovering a password using ROMMON mode

When accessing a switch using a console session, either hold the MODE button or press CTRL+C to send a break command.

Issue the flash_init command to initialize the flash filesystem.

Rename the config file (config.text) to config.old and then boot the switch. This will boot the switch without a startup config. Then boot the switch using the "boot" command.

Once your switch is booted and you have aborted the initial configuration dialog. Enter privileged exec mode and rename the config.old file to config.text.
