In today's lab I used Cisco packet tracer to connect 6 different Pc's to two different switches. I first connected all of the PC's to the proper switch via Copper Straight-Through Cables and then connected both switches to each other via a Copper Cross-Over Cable.
Some things I found helpful and useful in the lab was: -connecting the pcs to switches via copper straight-through cables -connecting the switches via Copper cross-over cable -cable connection type for pc is always FastEthernet0 -cable connection type for switch 0 or 1 corresponds with how many PCs you have already connected to said switch (Ex: Swich0FastEthernet0/1, Swich0FastEthernet0/2, and so on)
Lab Questions:
How do you deploy workstations and switches in Packet Tracer?
Click on end devices, the click on pcs and place them in the open area
How do connect these devices with cables?
Click on connections, click on required cable type, select workstation, choose correct cable connection type, click on switch, choose correct cable connection type
How do you access the command-line terminal on a Packet Tracer PC?
Click on a workstation (Ex: PC0), click on desktop in the pop up, click on command line
