Champlain uses a LAN network because a LAN is a group of devices that can share resources in a single area which is what Champlain consists of. We have many computers in networked classrooms which are examples of a LAN. Also multiple college campuses connected in a city are example of MAN and a MAN connects to multiple LANS. This would mean that each of the campuses uses a LAN and Champlain can be a perfect example of that

The primary advantage of having a class A network ID is the abundance of available IP addresses with over 16,777,214 usable addresses. The downside of class A network ID is that it can be really wasteful to an organization that doesn't need that many IP addresses.
