The Common Criteria Requires Extended Component Definitions for all Extended Components defined in a document. That is, for all SFRs that are not pulled directly from the CC catalog or are refinements of SFRs from the CC Catalog.

An ECD section is required for all PPs and FPs that define Extended Components.

NIAP's framework automatically generates ECD information into Appendix C of the document based on information provided throughout the XML document.
