The TLC met by teleconference on November 6, 2008 at 11:00 AM ET.

Agenda

1. How to deal with MUMPS problem
2. Fix BuildTools build release script to work CppAD
3. Upgrade to latest auto tools version
4. Handling of externals, new version numbering system, etc.
5. Upgrade to latest SVN
6. New business?

Notes

1. There was a brief discussion of how to deal with the problem with MUMPS. It was agreed that the best solution would be to ask the developers to make older Mumps versions available through a hidden link that would only be used by COIN users. Ted will contact the MUMPS developers about this.

2. There was a discussion about a permanent fix to the issue of CppAD not working with the current release script (because it uses a different version of the autotools. It was agreed that the easiest solution is for the release script to be fixed to automatically skip over CppAD.

3. There was a discussion of whether we should upgrade to the latest version of the autotools. It was agreed that we should probably put this off until there is a real problem that would be fixed by this upgrade.

4. There was a discussion of whetyer we should consider changing our system of handling externals, version numbering, etc. Peter Malkin has agreed to look into these issues for us, so for now, we will wait to see what he has to say.

5. It was agreed to upgrade to the latest version of SVN on the server side. This will not affect the client side (older clients will still work) unless we decide to use some of the newer features of SVN, in which case developers would have to upgrade their clients. In any case, users should not be affected.
