Notes
- Feedback from INFORMS was that we should work on ways to make COIN easier to access for the average user. There are many good things going on, but much of it is not well publicized. It was decided to set up an experimental server to allow remote submission of optimization problems through the Optimization Services framework. We'll start with a single server and scale up as demand/time/technology allows. The idea of providing virtual machines with COIN pre-installed was thought not to be worth it. Stuart Mitchell has already set up COIN "in the cloud" on Amazon for anyone to use. We will look into this further. Ted is working on installers for binaries.
- Trac has been upgraded. There have been some minor glitches, but it seems to be working well overall. There are many plugins available for the new version.
- Interest was expressed in continuing to work on changes to the build system that were begun at the BSP. These efforts will be picked up again soon.
- It was agreed that we should go towards a system requiring an e-mail with registration. Bill Hart volunteered to work on modifications to the scripts required.
