Notes
-
It was decided to add a section on the XML info pages of the umbrella projects for the listing of subprojects. We will also work on a mechanism for automatically posting the current version numbers of all projects on the info pages. The possibility of moving the XML files from www.coin-or.org to projects.coin-or.org is still being considered.
-
The renaming of mailing lists that do not conform to the current standard is still an outstanding issue. Ted will check with Matt on this.
-
There was a discussion of the fact that most projects are installing all the header files associated with the project rather than just the ones required to interface with the installed binaries. A related issue is the fact that when dependent projects are installed in source code form, access to header files in the source directory is provided, rather than limiting access only to installed headers. This may cause problems after the entire package is installed. Leo is looking into this.
-
Creation of BSP releases is proceeding. Osi and Cgl will be next. This is in the works for next week.
-
After a coherent set of point releases from the BSP are produced, complete sets of binaries on all platforms will be created and distributed.
-
The chair reminded everyone to please do their project reviews.
-
The submission chair briefed the committee on the status of submitted projects. We currently have several in the queue.
-
There was a general discussion of the upcoming elections. The chair asked everyone to come up with the names of people who might be convinced to join the TLC or to take on the position of repository manager.
-
There was a discussion regarding upgrading of the server. It was agreed that the server has been slow lately and that upgrades should be pursued.
-
Several people have expressed interest in being involved in working on more effective unit and regression testing as a next step for the committee's focus. The chair will look into the status of the proposed CoinTest project and see what can be done to move that long.
Respectfully submitted,
Ted Ralphs, TLC Chair
