Notes
-
There was a discussion of the implementation of the auto-generated project pages. Leo volunteered to help implement the post-commit scripts needed to copy the XML files from the
conf/
directories to the Web server. Ted will work with Kipp to get the needed files in place. All TLC members were asked to write XML files for their individual projects for testing purposes. -
Everyone was reminded to please start the project review process. The assignments and instructions are listed here.
-
Web site slowdown seems to have been corrected by the recent reversion from the mod-Python scripts that had been adopted. Everything seems to be operating well for now, but we still may need to consider upgrades to the server in the near future.
-
The process of merging development branches into trunk is almost completed. There are now new stable versions and releases of CoinUtils, Clp, and Cbc. This should make life much easier for project managers that depend on these.
-
There was a general discussion of the recommended procedures vis a vis upgrading externals. When a project makes a new release in which the only change is the externals and one of the externals has incremented its major version number, should the project itself increment its major version number? In other words, is the API of each dependent project considered part of the API of the project as a whole? General consensus was just to use common sense in this regard.
-
Other items were tabled until next meeting.
