What if display but hexagon?

The project aimed to create a LED hex display, capable of displaying real-time information such as the current time, weather, and bus schedule. The display consists of hexagons, each representing a component of the information to be shown. It was created by designing a PCB in KiCad and soldering WS2812 strips onto it. We then screwed it onto acrylic with headers connecting the boards. A Pi Pico W was used to control the display with an I2C bus for peripherals such as a light senosr. Tkinter was used to generate masks, which were used to define the shape and arrangement of LEDs within each hexagon. The Picos were programmed using the C SDK and CMake. We were able to build a functional LED hex display that only displayed preset masks. We hope to expand the software further in the future.
