The MFD framework

MFD includes 50+ subprojects providing various types of metadata. To keep track and re-distribute them we devised a uniform data structure, a version-controlled curation pipeline and a versioning system for the curated metadata releases.

Minimal metadata

The minimal entries required for a MFD sample are: date of sampling, coordinates, sitename (optional) and the ontology (area type, sample type, hab1, hab2, hab3). The gathering of the metadata is ongoing and the metadata coverage increasing.
