Release Notes

The cf-release v166 was released on April 8th 2014. This release implements a change in the CC where it will deregister from the router and finish all of its work in a deploy before restarting (the cc equivalent to a drain). This change enables operators to perform an upgrade with almost no downtime to the CC's.

This release also decouples Buildpacks (java, ruby, nodejs) from the DEA source. They are now specified as part of the deployment manifest and installed during BOSH deployment.

In the next release(s) we will be introducing change that will increase the size of the largest application that can be uploaded to CF from 256mb to 1gb in the cf-release defaults. This means that existing installations will have larger staging disk quotas, larger max file upload sizes in nginx for the CC, and other changes to allow larger files. We intend to provide a template to maintain the current legacy levels for disk constrained environments.
