Meeting Agenda:

  1. Progress Climsoft development and addition of the data output option for Climate station system in Climsoft system;
  2. Brief discussion on the Burundi work visit for the training on Climsoft and R-Instat;
  3. Operation issues of Climsoft in Eswatini (EMS);
  4. Operation issues of Climsoft in Zambia (ZMD);
  5. Progress on training of the SMA staff at ICPAC and way forward;
  6. AOB: visit Peter Muraya software development team in Kenya

Meeting actions

  1. Prepare to attend the virtual meeting to discuss the Climsoft Data output for Climate station system to be held on Tuesday,07/11/2023 ( all);

  2. Need to organise a virtual meeting with Eswatini Met Service(EMS) technical team to check the status of real time ingestion of data into Climsoft and agree on the way forwards(Marcellin to organise and communicate);

  3. Need to organise a virtual meeting with Zambia Met Service technical team to discuss on their progress and challenges and the ingestion of AWS data into Climsoft (Marcellin to organise and communicate);

  4. Need to organise a meeting with ICPAC team to discuss on the issue of Climate database work for Sudan Meteorological Authority (SMA) and agree on the way forwards (MH to organise and communicate);

  5. Improve on the Form Hourly by locking hours during data entry until users decide to unlock this and need to have an option to select the sequencer type users want to use, either by sequencing days or elements (PM to implement);

  6. Consider to add hydrological / hydrometeorological products in Climsoft in future in consultation with hydrologists/hydrometeorologists experts;

  7. Continue to follow up with Burundi Met/IGEBU on the possibility of implementing requested hydrological and hydro-geological products (e.g. weighted average, enable the check of previous and current values for wind run element to ensure the previous record should not be greater than the current record as part of the quality control(QC) check, possibility of additions of more metadata for hydrology in climsoft) (All);

  8. Day of the next technical meeting and day to visit Peter Muraya software development team in Kenya (Dates will be discussed and confirmed.
