Product Ownership

Applications need to managed by Product Owners. Here are some details that should be defined for an application:

• Product Owner - person(s) owning the application
• Team - devops team that supports the product
• Data Owner - owner of the application data
• Business Function - what's the application value
• Budget - how much does the application cost
• Customer - who benefits from the application
• SLA - definition of the application availability

Owners need Products with customers. Product Owners have these responsibilities:

• Defining the vision
• Managing the product backlog
• Prioritizing needs
• Overseeing development stages
• Anticipating client needs
• Acting as primary liaison
• Evaluating product progress at each iteration
