  • The version supported by the current OpenGL drivers is below 2.1.
  • The hardware does not support OpenGL.

Solutions:

  • Install the latest drivers from the GPU manufacturer.
  • Check the driver supports OpenGL 2.1 or later. See OpenGL drivers troubleshooting
  • Upgrade your hardware with a compatible GPU.

The game starts but the window is black or white.

Problem: the game starts but the window is completely black/white.

Causes:

  • Outdated or incompatible OpenGL drivers
  • Not enough VRAM to show the game in the specified resolution

Solutions:

  • Install updated video drivers from the GPU manufacturer. See OpenGL drivers troubleshooting
  • Reduce the game resolution in the game settings window shown when the game is launched.
  • Play the game in lower image quality (HD instead of Full HD).

The game shows a blue screen with text

Problem: there can be many problems that show the blue screen. Keep searching the list below.

Blue screen with "OpenGL error: out of memory" message.

Cause: the system does not have enough VRAM to run the game.

It looks like this:

Solutions:

  • Play the game in lower image quality (HD instead of Full HD).
  • Reduce the resolution of your screen and the game.
  • Close other applications or games that might also be using VRAM.
  • Install updated video drivers from the GPU manufacturer.
  • See if your video card has some setting in the drivers or BIOS configuration to increase the VRAM.
  • Install a GPU with at least 512MB VRAM.
  • There are some tricks to increase the VRAM that depend on the GPU. These are just last resort and not an official solution as they probably will not work.

Blue screen with other message

Cause: it's probably a game bug

It looks like this:

Solution: please send the following info to our support email

  • a screenshot of the blue screen text that we can read
  • a brief explanation of what was happening in the game (level name or screen, hero, specific attack, etc.)
  • the version of the game (shown in the launch settings window or Credits screen)
  • OS version, GPU model and VRAM size.

Game looks low resolution with display scaling higher than 100% (Windows only)

Cause: Windows is configured to show the size of text, apps and other items with a value higher than 100% (display scaling, or high DPI). This is shown in Settings > Display. The game engine does not support settings over 100%

Solution options:

  • A. Configure the game to disable high DPI settings.

    • Right click on the exe file
    • Click on Compatibility tab
    • Before Windows 1703:
      • Check the "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" as shown in the image below
    • Windows 1703 and later:
      • Click the "Change high DPI settings" button
      • Check the "Override high DPI scaling behavior, scaling performed by:" and select "Application" from the list.
    • Click OK and launch the game as always.
  • B. Set the display scaling to 100% in Settings > Display

Android Issues

Error codes 10 to 14

These errors happen when there is a problem retrieving or storing the game save data in Google Play Services. They could be temporary, but if they happen continuously please try the following procedures:

  • Make sure the icon on the bottom left corner of the main menu has a blue ribbon on it, meaning you're properly logged in to Google Play Services.
  • Check you have proper Internet connectivity (wifi or wireless).
  • Log out and log back in to Google Play Services by tapping the blue ribbon in the main menu and logging out from the menu of the Google Play Services screen that it shows.

Error code 19

Error code 19 means that Google Play Services crashed because it found the Saved Games feature disabled.

After the error shows up, the game works as expected, but cloud save and other google play services are disabled.

According to Google, the cache refreshes at least once every 24 hours, so the error should go away after a day or so. If you want to speed up the process, you can clean the cache manually following these instructions:

  • On your android phone or tablet, open your Settings app, then go to Apps
  • At the top of the screen, tap More (three vertical dots) and then Show system
  • Scroll down and tap Google Play services
  • Tap Storage > Clear Cache.
  • Then, tap Manage Space > Clear all data
  • Launch the game

Endless loop in "Updating game saves..."

When START is pressed in the main menu, the game shows a message that says "Updating game saves..." and stays there forever.

This should clear up by itself in about 24hs. Too speed things up or if it's still happening after a day you can clean Google Play services cache and data manually following these instructions:

  • On your android phone or tablet, open your Settings app, then go to Applications or Apps
  • At the top of the screen, tap More (three vertical dots) and then Show system or Show system process
  • Scroll down and tap Google Play services
  • Tap Storage > Clear Cache.
  • Then, tap Manage Space > Clear all data
  • Launch the game
