Many discussions around the merits of versions, not using versions at all, differing workflows.

There's an understanding that Chef (the company) is working on implementing the Policyfile.rb approach, driven by the chef command line client.

This sparked a larger discussion on what this is, in what scenarios it may be useful, as well as some of the deployment methods that people are using.

This is not comprehensive of the topics at all, rather that there's many ways to handle using versions, no-versioning and more.
